As your son grows from a child to a tweenager, their teddy bear or dinosaur themed room is no longer appropriate and you may wonder why your son is no longer inviting his friends over. Maybe he’s embarrassed about his room. Maybe its time for a change. After all, you want your son to be happy to invite his friends over to hang out in a “cool” space.
This boy’s room was ready for a makeover. The tween had been sleeping on a mattress in his bedroom. The tween loved everything to do with sk8parks so making a sk8park bedroom was an obvious choice!

With alot of black paint, curtains & a rug from Ikea, sk8board picture find from a local thrift shop, and scooters that noone was using, this room went from uninviting to the coolest room in the neighborhood that not only the tweenager loves, but all the neighborhood kids love too! Be careful what you wish for!!!
Not only did the tween LOVE his new sk8park bedroom but the neighborhood gang did as well. It soon became the favorite place for the boys in the hood to hang out in.
Welcome! I’m Debi Collinson. Designer. Stager. House Flipper & Real Estate Investor. In 2006, at the request of a realtor/friend, I staged my very first home. Staging houses was just starting to become popular. I watched every staging show on HGTV that I could find. I was very nervous staging my first house, but the sellers liked their newly redesigned home so much that they turned down an offer for full asking price. I went back to design school and have never looked back. Since 2006, I have been staging, designing, and buying “fixer uppers” either to sell for a healthy profit or to rent them out
