Even by admission of the homeowner, this townhouse was frankly, dated and well worn. It was a small 3 bedroom townhouse for a growing family of 4 who were moving on to a larger home because they had outgrown it.
The flooring was in need of repairs, the kitchen cabinets needed an updated, and the basement had become the storage area because of lack of space.
I’m Debi Collinson. A Designer. Stager. Real Estate Investor. At the request of a realtor, in 2006, I was asked to stage his client’s home before staging became a “thing.” Staging was just starting to become popular on HGTV but their were not trained stagers at that time. I nervously staged my first home. The sellers liked their newly designed home so much that they turned down an offer for full asking price. I never looked back.
I’m also a real estate investor and buy “fixer uppers” to fix them up and sell them for a healthy profit or rent them out. I am currently living in my 8th “fixer upper.”
