Welcome. I’m Debi. I’m a Designer, Renovater, Stager & Blogger. For over 10 years I have been staging houses helping clients make their home stunning but also adding value to their home at the same time. The results have been amazing – our clients earned money for their home beyond their expectations. Meanwhile, my fixer upper at home sat waiting for ME to fix IT up.
BUT now it’s MY turn! Come join ME as I renovate our fixer upper. I’ll share my tips and secrets along the way on how you can make your home stunning AND to make sure what you’re doing will Add Value To Your Home for when your ready to sell.
The Full Story
From a young age I grew up looking at blue prints and going on construction sites. My father, a Professional Engineer, and co-owner of a Design/Build Engineering firm, gave me an early view and interest into the field of designing, building and decorating. I wanted to become either an Architect or an Interior Designer and to join my father’s company but my mother thought that the renovation/building industry was no place for a woman. So I took the business route and obtained my Bachelor of Commerce degree. I worked for a top Fortune 500 high-tech firm for 15 years. It gave me incredible business experience but I couldn’t get the creative desire out of my blood. I retired from the corporate world to stay at home with our boys … and to pursue my creative side.
At the request of my realtor husband, I started staging homes for his listings. I was very nervous with my first client. The couple liked their newly “redesigned” home so much that they turned down an offer for their wanted price and decided not to move. The rest, as they say, is history. I went back to school to study interior decorating and design. My design & staging firm is recognized in York Region & GTA for helping clients acheive their dreams either through redesigning their space, or helping them achieve top dollar by staging their home when they’re ready to sell.
We also buy fixer uppers. We either live in them while we do it (NOT recommend – especially with kids – lol) to flip or to rent out. I get paid to do what I love. I’m living my dream.
My staging, renovation experience & design education, along with my business experience & business degree, has given me the winning combination of business acumen and creativity. This gives me the ability to create amazing designs, while staying within budget, and also more importantly, while adding value to your home.
